Does the buyer of a domain name need real details?
I am helping my dad setup a website, as I have done several for myself in the past and have gained some good experience, however, he is very adamant not to include his real name as the registration requires a first and a last name. First he tried one letter in each form, then he tried the first half of the company name as the first name etc. I am fairly sure he needs to put in his real information to register the domain name, any help?He has bought a moon fruit package, and with it comes a free domain name, so that's not an issue.I apologise for the lack of clarity, I mean the name of the registrar, being him.

Can you have two hosts for one domain name?
Take for example if you are from Ireland and your website is to be world accessible, and the users may upload things like photos. Now to make sure the connection to the site is always fast and loads quickly also, would it be possible to have two hosts for the one domain name or is this not feasible?Okay so if you just had to pick one host for worldwide performance who would it be, hostgator? Thanks.
Getting a new domain name to do a URL redirect to a preexisting website.?
I thought this would be straight forward, however, after looking at some Domain name websites things began to get a little fuzzier as to what I am wanting and what options I need.SetupI have a website already up and going but it has a long and hard to remember URL.I would like to buy a simpler and easier to remember URL and use it only to do a redirect to the preexisting website. What features options do you think I would need? What places would you suggest to get the domain GoDaddy, Domain.com Etc? I saw on Domain.com that I could get things like deluxe hosting since I already have a server I did not think I would need this but wanted to make sure Also on Domain.com is something called DNS management, this gives you complete control over the DNS's information through the browser. What options features would I need to do a simple redirect?Thank you.
How do I safely migrate my domain name to a new website?
My current website with its permanent.com domain name is currently hosted on a Windows based server. My new Joomla website is currently being built on Linux based server under temporary.com domain.Once the new website is ready, my host will replace temporary.com domain name with permanent.com domain name.Question 1 Are there any possible issues that may arise during this domain name migration? Anything I should watch out for?Question 2 My permanent.com domain email currently goes through Google Apps. Do I need to change any settings to continue getting my emails though Google? Will I loose existing email messages in my Inbox during this migration?Thank you for answers Yes, the host will do the moving, I just wanted to have a general idea what I could expect. Also, the host has nothing to do with my mail going through Google, so I guess I will have to take care of that myself worrying about messing things up
