I am a new graphic designer looking to supplement my income through freelance. I have tried a few places that charge a membership few and soon after had my identity stolen. Can anyone recommend a safe FREE freelance site or organization.Thanks.
Student looking for freelance graphic design work!?
Im talking about like Desktop Publishing such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash.Im just 15 years old and my IT teacher was stunned at my graphic design work for a certain module in my GCSE course. He recommend I try and make some money from it. I spoke to someone who does job advice and she said legally I could only do certain hours a week and off site work. Im not sure where to find prospective customers. I dont want to join sites where professional rates and designers are competitively fighting over work, but more suitable for a student just wanting a couple of quid for doing some designs. Anyone help me at all?Im not thinking of doing this as a career or anything, just that most of my mates have got part time jobs or whatever and i thought my best talent that is rare at my age is what I do. Im actually studying forensics and human biology next year. My family dont own buisnesses or anything and I wouldnt charge my friends I did do some menu's and a logo for a cafe near where I live but they paid me rather low and it wasnt really worth the time I put into it.Im using a new laptop so have no pictures on here but I have created some basic flash games on Kongregate and also had a deviantArt account, ill try find it.
What printer will be best for a home based freelance graphic design business?
I have worked with a few different printers finishers and I have noticed big difference in color quality. My preference was a Fiery at my internship loved the color, but it was like a $10,000 dollar unit or something crazy like that & definitely not something I could afford. I used a Xerox Phaser dont remember the exact model number and I liked its results before I got to use the Fiery. I would also really like a high quality photo printer. I have used an Epson 4800 & liked it, but I would be interested in a combo unit if it exists save on some space .

I have been researching and I saw the Epson Artisan series is good which they have a good rating. I am a new entrant in the design industry. I need to give my prices to a client for a graphic design project for t shirt prints. I have no idea about the pricing systems and the best system? In any circumstances if the client is willing to pay per design, what should be the charge? on hourly basis? etc.What is the flat and hourly rate that a beginner should charge?
