What's the average rate of payment per hour for a freelance PC tune-up?
I was recently asked by a friend of mine to tune up his PC, and he mentioned that he'd be willing to pay me for the service, but neither he nor I can really determine what would be fair for payment per hour. It's not that we disagree or anything, we just don't really know what the average rate is. If it matters, most of what I'd actually be doing is just running a few maintenance programs on his computer, since my training so far doesn't cover most manual tune up methods, and what he'd be paying me for would be the service of selecting, setting up, and customizing the programs.Well, he's not a CLOSE friend, but more of an acquaintance. Plus, I wasn't even thinking of charging him before he mentioned to me that he wanted to pay me.

Starting a freelance web design business?
I'm going to be traveling for a 2 3 years, only living in one location for a maximum of 6 months. I'm changing my career route and want to teach myself the ins and outs of freelance web design. Now I currently run several websites, and have built about 4 or 5. I know my way around Wordpress UI, and Basics of Drupal 6 7. Fluent in HTML, decent CSS, For a short time I was a professional photo editor retoucher so I have Photoshop CS3, 3 ext, 4, 5 so I know my way around Photoshop CameraRAW bridgeI plan on putting out extra money to replace my current desktop with a laptop and figure I will get a Mac Pro so that I can use it for business as well. My main question is, What programs pieces of technology could you web designers NOT live without? What do you use on a weekly monthly basis?Tablets?Photoshop?Illustrator?I want the ability to do simple logos if clients want, I have professional photography equipment so photoshop will be mainly used for editing pictures on website, blogs, etc...What do I need to be able to tackle most anything thrown at me?
