Reliable product design information

Looking for online object / product design & manufacture...?
Over the years I've visited a few sites which create one off products, in a variety of materials and based on designs which individuals can upload. These can range from cardboard iPod holders and Plexiglas lampshades up to aluminum guitar bodies the last one I read about in Wired a while back .Never having needed to actually use these sites, it seems I never bookmarked them. Now, I'd like to make a pendant and am unable to find anything.Any ideas about sites that do this kind of thing?Cheers...

i have to do some design process,and to run sofwares like alias studio tools 13,catia v 6,unigraphics,photoshop cs2,corel draw.not going for apple and sany vaio...which are costly...please suggest some best lap tops ..that may have s4ervice centre in india

Macbook or laptop? for product design student.?
i am a student studying product design, i am thinking of buying a macbook pro. Is it worth it or shall i stick with laptops? i will be using it for photo editing, creating presentation boards, and other stuff such as downloading and music.

Hi I would like you to share some ideas on products that are worth designing, as i would like to get some user thoughts. It can be any manufactured product furniture, toys, kitchen tools etc etc but I would prefer minimum electronic component and something more realistic and non sexual ideas. Or maybe to change an existing product shape or improve on it in physical terms, not the programming of it.p.s. I ve posted this msg in several area, so if u had already given your opinion then no need to do it again.

Whats to say that the computer and/or anti-virus companies aren't creating products designed to be hacked?
Ok so I am no conspiracy theroist, and I never drink the cool aid when it comes to ignorant statements. I am simply saying, how do we know that the computer products that we buy aren't designed to eventually fail us some day? Whats to say that the people who build anti virus software aren't the ones spreading it around as well? If all computers didn't fail or break or someday get a virus, these companies would NOT be profitable. They rely on these types of circumstances to take place so that they can constantly be pumping out products. Does anyone have any insight into this?
